The pink triangle is a symbol which represents LGBTQ+ liberation and pride. It was originally created in Nazi Germany for the purpose of singling out and dehumanizing the LGBTQ+ community in concentration camps. Since then, it has been reclaimed by the global LGBTQ+ community as a symbol of remembrance and empowerment. By using this symbol, we can remember the lost lives of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as work towards freedom for everyone.
The triangle serves as a base, which stands for the sacrifice of the fallen members of the LGBTQ+ community. On top of the triangle are green hills, representing devotion to nature, a force which unites all of humanity. Together, the shapes form a heart, symbolizing the many types of love that we wish to empower, whether it be romantic, platonic, or familial. Above the hills is a simplified rainbow, a symbol for the LGBTQ+ community, as well as a representation of peace and unity.
This website is a labor of love created,
curated, and maintained by myself alone. As
the sole creator, I am committed to providing
a platform where diverse voices can be
celebrated. While I may be working behind
the scenes alone, this space is a community
effort, built on the experiences of people in
the LGBTQ+ community. I couldn’t have done
this without you all.
This project is based in Seattle, but I am
dedicated to sharing this message across the
country, and even the whole world. No
matter our nationalities or identities, we can
all learn compassion for each other and
build a better world!
